For Peace in Our World (An Advent Prayer)

Are you having a hard time focusing because of the chaos in the world? Are you sick of the political agendas that promotes hate and intolerance? Is your soul troubled by the increase in violence? Does your soul weep for the nations living in fear of terror and all forms of evil? 

Here is a prayer to bring peace to your soul. 

God, 

There is a large cloud filled with pain and turmoil in the world. Trust has been broken between government and people. Gun violence continues to prevail, while precious lives are lost.

Hatred continues to rise as prominent figures suggest policies that dehumanize and devalue those who are most vulnerable. The despair that comes from the access to financial resources widens the divide between class.

We need your help. 

For families grieving from the loss of loved ones from gun violence... 

For leaders who need to stand up and speak truth to power...

For communities of faith struggling to speak a word of comfort... 

For the lack of fair policies that only benefits the privilege... 

For protesters fighting against the injustices created by systems of oppression... 

For the advocates who work daily to help change the futures of young people... 

For the world as the fear of terrorist attacks continue... 

For the lonely who are anxious...

For the brokenhearted who are emotional disturbed... 

For those who are frustrated with the lack of change... 

Give us the courage to continue to seek for peace that is found in your Divine Spirit. Destroy evil systems that promotes war and disharmony. Encourage us to see you as our anchor of support in this season as we wait.

Hear our prayer.
